Pesticides cannot be removed from fresh produce as they are already absorbed by the fruits and vegetables. So, peeling them will not help. If you do, you will be removing the most nutrient-dense part of the product rather than pesticides. You can wash them in cold water with a little salt to remove the external dirt, in any season, so you are sure they are clean. But the pesticides will remain.
If organic food is not available in your area, do the best you can. You can also grow your own greens/microgreens – they do not need much space. However, the end goal should be to move towards as much organic food as possible, as that is healthiest and most nutritious.
